IT’S NOT YET OVER UNTIL IT IS OVER
As at 54min 30sec of the 2nd leg of the 2018/2019 champions league season’s semifinals, (i.e. 35min 30sec to the conclusion of all semifinal rounds of the season), Tottenham was 3:0 down (on aggregates) against Ajax. At this point a lot of fans would have drawn their conclusion that Tottenham was out of the game. The opposition team would have started rejoicing and celebrating, as a matter of fact, those who placed a bet against Tottenham would have started making arrangements for their celebration and how to make jest of Tottenham fans. I believe at that point even the coach would have lost confidence in himself and his team, he might have just accepted that it’s just football, there must be a looser thereby accepting defeat, even his players might just be running around the pitch waiting for the final whistle so they can go and prepare to play for the third position(bronze medal).
But WHOOP! In less than 30sec the game changed, a goal came in their favour making it 3:1, which I believe had a lot to do in boosting their morale and positivity. And again came another favourable goal before the clock could record another 4min leaving them with onl 1 goal deficiency. The clock kept ticking and minutes passed and it seemed nothing was gonna happen again, maybe it was just going to end in 3:2 against them. Nevertheless, the players kept playing strongly and positively, the coach regained belief in his team and kept issueing the required technical instructions.
Hmmmmm! As at 90min which was the end of normal time the scoreline remained the same and then there was an 8min extra time, 5mins into the extra time nothing still changed but the whole story changed when it was 2mins to the final whistle. The deadlock was broken and then came the goal that changed it all and guess what….the team that was 3:0 down(on aggregate) won the game on away goals just when it was 2mins to go. They never gave up till the final whistle was blown.
And here comes the inspiration, ni matter how challenging and difficult the situation might be, everyone might have given up on you, friends might have left you, family might have given what they think is the best advice, which is that you should quit. NO! Never give up, believe in yourself, believe in your dreams, believe in your potentials and believe in God, do your best, put in extra strenght, ensure you fight to the finish line. A dancer who dance on stage doesn’t just quit and leave the stage just because she missed a step in the middle of a dance. Do not give up before the final whistle for a minute can change the whole story. There lie light at the end of the tunnel.
It’s not yet over until it is over.
